The PTO organizes and administers a Room Parent program for each elementary school. The PTO Vice President at each school coordinates that building’s Room Parent program, which includes classroom parties and staff appreciation. The Middle schools do not have classroom parties, but do need volunteers to chaperone dances and other events and help with the staff appreciation activities at their school.

How it Works:

In the Elementary schools, Room Parents plan and supervise a Halloween party, Valentine’s Day party and an End-of-Year party (Lincoln does a Winter Party and not End-of-Year). The Halloween and Valentines parties are approximately forty-five minutes to one hour long and consist of games and activities. The End of Year party generally takes place during the last week or two of school and includes games as well as snacks. The snacks allowed at the End-of-Year party will be communicated to each Room Parent Coordinator prior to the planning of the party and are based on the district wide approved list.

Dates:

Room party dates for the 2022-2023 school year are as follows:

  • Halloween Party: Tuesday, October 31, 2023
  • (Lincoln only) Winter Party: Friday, December 22, 2023
  • Valentines Day Party: Wednesday, February 14, 2024
  • End of Year Parties: Varies by school and grade
